This is just scratching the surface 😉 of how Front-Line Managers can utilize Scratchpad:


📝 Snapshot of your Reps' Deals This Quarter

Follow along for an easy way to gain visibility into your team's deals this quarter - grouped by rep and deal spotlights added for key fields that need updating ⬇️

Step-by-Step:

  1. Open an Opportunities Grid View in your Scratchpad Pipeline

  2. Name it something like "This Q's Opps - Grouped by Rep"

  3. Add in any Fields that are relevant to you

  4. Add Filters to your view:

    1. Change the scope from "My Opportunities" to "All Opportunities"

    2. Closed is False

    3. Close Date is This Fiscal Quarter

    4. Opportunity Owner is [your team members' names]

  5. Group your view by Opportunity Owner

  6. Add Deal Spotlights to your view:

    1. Close Date is before Today

    2. Next Step is empty

    3. Amount is empty

    4. Amount is greater than or equal to [your amount of choice]

  7. You're done! 🥳


📊 Kanban Board View of this Quarter’s Pipeline

Want a high-level overview of all of your team's pipeline for this quarter? Well look no further! Kanban Views are the ideal choice for forecasting reviews with your team, allowing you to see the total revenue in each stage and add deal spotlights for updates needed ⬇️

Step-by-Step:

  1. Open an Opportunities Kanban View in your Scratchpad Pipeline

    1. Select a "Group by" Field when prompted, in this example we will use Stage

  2. Name it something like "This Q's Forecasting View"

  3. Select Customize cards on your menu bar and add in any Fields that are relevant to you

  4. Add Filters to your view:

    1. Change the scope from "My Opportunities" to "All Opportunities"

    2. Closed is False

    3. Close Date is This Fiscal Quarter

    4. Opportunity Owner is [your team members' names]

  5. Select Summarized by on your menu bar and choose Amount

  6. Add Deal Spotlights to your view:

    1. Close Date is before Today

    2. Next Step is empty

    3. Amount is empty

    4. Amount is greater than or equal to [your amount of choice]

  7. You're done! 🥳


👥 Drill Down into Individual Rep’s Pipeline

Did someone say more efficient 1:1's?! Create a Pipeline Grid View for each of your reps so you can both gain visibility into what needs updating prior to your meeting, focus your attention on deal strategy instead missing data, and create a space for you to leave Manager Notes on their deals ⬇️

Step-by-Step:

  1. Open an Opportunities Grid View in your Scratchpad Pipeline

  2. Name it something like "Weekly 1:1 - Anji (name of rep)"

  3. Add in any Fields that are relevant to you

    1. 🪄 Pro-Tip: Create a "Manager Feedback" Field in your Salesforce and bring it into this view to leave space for feedback before or during your 1:1's!

  4. Add Filters to your view:

    1. Change the scope from "My Opportunities" to "All Opportunities"

    2. Closed is False

    3. Opportunity Owner is [your team members' names]

  5. Add Deal Spotlights to your view:

    1. Close Date is before Today

    2. Next Step is empty

    3. Amount is empty

    4. Amount is greater than or equal to [your amount of choice]

    5. Last Activity is before number of days ago 14

    6. Last Activity is on or after number of days ago 7

  6. Select the Person Icon in the top right corner of your Grid View to Share the view with your rep

  7. You're done! 🥳


💬 Comment on your Reps' Deals

Tired of your messages getting lost in Slack or Email? Keep a record of running communication around deals with Scratchpad Commenting and give your reps an easy way to reply back ⬇️

Step-by-Step:

  1. Open a Grid View in your Scratchpad Pipeline

  2. Click into the Commenting Icon at the far left of a record in Pipeline

  3. Enter record or field level comment in the commenting sidebar at the right hand side of the screen, don't forget to @ mention your recipient!

  4. All Comments made in Scratchpad will record in Salesforce Chatter

⚡️ Help your Reps Stay on Top of Deals Needing Some Action

One less thing on your plate! With Automations, you can set up automated deal alerts to go out to your team via Scratchpad Inbox or Slack. In this example we'll use Scratchpad Automations to notify reps of deals that haven't had activity in the last 10 days ⬇️
