Learn how to enable Scratchpad's call recorder and manage recording preferences

Enable Call Recording


  1. Navigate to Calls within your Scratchpad Navigation Bar

  2. Select Get Started

  3. Click Connect Google to connect your calendar, then Enable

  4. Enable the Zoom Integration to record calls more seamlessly. Learn more here.

Manage Recording Preferences


  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Call Recording under Account

  3. Toggle on your preferences for Auto-record

    • External meetings: Automatically record all meetings with at least one external participant.

    • Internal meetings: Automatically record all meetings with only internal participants.

FAQ


Why are my Zoom calls not recording?

Having trouble with calls being recorded? Below are some common situations that prevent Scratchpad from recording:

  1. The host of the meeting was not present, or you were not the host

  2. The host's local recording setting is disabled

  3. The host has disabled permitting participants to record locally

  4. The host has disabled requesting recording permission within the current call

  5. Host is using the web client instead of the Zoom desktop app

Does Call Recording work with other meeting platforms, like Google Meet or Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Scratchpad's Call Recorder will auto-join meetings from Google Calendar, regardless of the meeting platform type. The only meeting platform not supported at the moment is Webex.

If you aren't using Google Calendar, you can manually invite the Scratchpad Notetaker to your call:

  1. Navigate to Calls within your Scratchpad Navigation Bar

  2. Select Invite to call in the top right

  3. Paste your meeting link and click Invite
