Scratchpad Notetaker (desktop app and bot)

Record and transcribe meetings using Scratchpad's recording bot or desktop app

Updated yesterday

Overview

Scratchpad Notetaker gives you two simple and reliable ways to capture and analyze your meetings.

Use the calendar-connected bot to automatically join and record your meetings, or start recordings with one click using the Mac desktop app.

Both options provide high-quality transcripts and AI-generated insights, so you can stay present in the conversation and let Scratchpad handle the follow-up.

Set up

Scratchpad Notetaker Bot

Scratchpad's Notetaker Bot can capture internal or external calls and automatically joins meetings as a participant on your Google or Outlook Calendar.

  1. Navigate to Settings, then Calls

  2. Click Connect next to Scratchpad Notetaker

  3. Connect your Google or Outlook Calendar

  4. External meetings will be enabled by default, toggle on Internal meetings if desired

Desktop Scratchpad Notetaker

To prevent duplicate recordings, ensure you're not using another Scratchpad integration (notetaker bot, Zoom, or Gong) at the same time. You can review and manage your recording settings under Settings > Calls.

  1. Download the Scratchpad desktop app

  2. When prompted, move the app into your Applications folder

  3. Open the app and login with your Salesforce credentials

  4. Connect your Calendar

  5. When prompted, enable:

    • microphone

    • system audio

    • voice isolation

  6. Once complete, you'll see your next scheduled meeting and existing AI fields

Using the Desktop Scratchpad Notetaker

Before each meeting, you’ll receive a desktop notification prompting you to join and start recording.

After the meeting ends (or the recording is manually stopped), a summary will appear in the desktop app within a few minutes. The full recording, transcript, and AI updates will be available in the Calls app in Scratchpad.

Please note, the desktop recorder captures audio only. Transcripts distinguish between your voice and all other speakers, but do not identify individual participants.
