Command is the most efficient way to create records like Tasks, Contacts, Opportunities, Accounts, and Activities like logging a call

Creating with Command

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Integrations on the left menu bar and add Scratchpad Command

  3. Open a new tab and enter the keyboard shortcut CMD+J (Mac) or CTRL+J (PC) to bring up Scratchpad Command

  4. Select the type of record you want to create under Commands, like Create new opportunity, Create new task, or Create new account

  5. Add any required fields by clicking the gear icon then Fields and Related Lists


Pro-Tips

Creating an Account and Contact Simultaneously

  1. Open Scratchpad Command, CMD+J (Mac) or CTRL+J (PC)

  2. Select Create new contact

  3. Bring in any fields you'd like, but be sure to include the Account Name*

  4. From the Account Name text box, simply select Create New Account

  5. Continue to enter relevant data, and select Create Contact when complete

Creating an Activity like Logging a Call

  1. Open Scratchpad Command, CMD+J (Mac) or CTRL+J (PC)

  2. Select Create new activity

  3. Select the All Tile and Pin the Log a Call Tile (only required for the first time)

  4. Fill out the information related to your call

    • Date, Status, and Activity Subtype will autofill

  5. Once completed, select "Create Activity" on the bottom right

Creating Contacts and Contact Roles in One Flow

For this workflow you will need to enable the custom object Opportunity Contact Role, learn how to enable custom objects here.

  1. Open Scratchpad Command, CMD+J (Mac) or CTRL+J (PC)

  2. Select + Create new opportunity contact role

  3. Within the Contact ID field, click Create new contact

  4. Fill out the required fields and click Create Contact

  5. You'll be brought back to your Opportunity Contact Role creation, and you can search for the Contact you created under Contact ID

  6. Fill out the remaining required fields and click Create Opportunity Contact Role

  7. You've now created a Contact and Opportunity Contact Role in one flow!
