Updated over a week ago

Salesforce Requirements Before Getting Started

  1. Scratchpad Forecasting relies on the Roles/Forecast Hierarchy setup in your Salesforce instance, ensure they are updated. Video walk-through here

  2. Add the Allow Forecasting permission on the User level

  3. Add the View Roles and Role Hierarchy permission on the Profile level

How to Configure & Customize Your Forecast Settings

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Forecasts under Workspace

  3. Select your desired Forecast to:

    • Edit General settings (like Name, Forecast Period, and Categories)

    • Manually configure Targets for your team

  4. Select +New Forecast to create Multiple Forecasts

How to Manage Access to Forecasting

By default, each Forecast will be accessible to all users on the Forecast Hierarchy. These users can access their personal forecasts and, if they are Managers, they can also access their team’s and sub-team’s forecasts. Users set as Admin in Scratchpad will have full access to all Forecasts.

You can change the default settings to restrict general access and explicitly choose which user should have access to the Forecast:

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Forecasts under Workspace

  3. Select your desired Forecast, then select Access

To restrict general access:

  1. Change the access type for “Forecast hierarchy” from Partial Access to No Access

To grant access to individual users:

  1. Click Add Members and select your desired user

  2. Select an access type:

    • Full Access: View entire forecast

    • Partial Access: View personal and direct report forecasts

    • Remove: Will no longer have access to forecast
