Role Designer

Learn how to tailor your team's workspace based on role

Role Designer allows you to customize your organization's workspace for each role on the team to streamline processes, boost data hygiene, and eliminate unnecessary clutter.

Set up role-based shortcuts to workflows like:

  • MEDDIC, BANT, or any other sales methodology

  • Converting Leads

  • Logging Activities

  • Creating Opportunities, Contacts and Accounts

  • Handoffs from SDR > AE > CSM

And any others that will help optimize your team's path to success!

Create and Delete Roles


Admins have the ability to create and manage roles in Scratchpad.

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Members under Workspace

  3. Click on any user's role and select โš™๏ธ Manage Roles

  4. To edit or delete a role, hover over the role and click the pencil or trash can

  5. To create a role, go to the bottom of the list and click + Add Role

Create Shared Tiles and Views in Role Designer


Create Tiles: Standardize the fields entered when creating new records like Opportunities, Accounts, Contacts, etc.

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Role Designer under Workspace

  3. Choose the Role you'd like to add a Create Tile for (ex. Account Executive, SDR, CSM)

  4. Choose the Object you'd like to add a Create Tile for (ex. Opportunity, Account, Contact)

  5. Choose Create Tiles as your creation type

  6. Select + Add in the top-right

  7. Within General

    • Name the Create Tile

    • Select your desired Owner

    • Share by Role or Organizationally

    • Choose the Fields you'd like to include in the Create Tile

  8. Click Save

Update Tiles: Standardize the fields entered when updating records and easily deploy methodologies

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Role Designer under Workspace

  3. Choose the Role you'd like to add a Update Tile for (ex. Account Executive, SDR, CSM)

  4. Choose the Object you'd like to add a Update Tile for (ex. Opportunity, Account, Contact)

  5. Choose Update Tiles as your creation type

  6. Select + Add in the top-right

  7. Within General

    • Name the Update Tile

    • Select your desired Owner

    • Share by Role or Organizationally

    • Choose the Fields you'd like to include in the Update Tile

  8. Click Save

Views: Create and share Pipeline Views by Role or Organizationally so everyone is aligned

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon in the bottom-left corner of your Scratchpad homepage

  2. Select Role Designer under Workspace

  3. Choose the Role you'd like to add a View for (ex. Account Executive, SDR, CSM)

  4. Choose the Object you'd like to add a View for (ex. Opportunity, Account, Contact)

  5. Choose Views as your creation type

  6. Select + Add in the top-right

  7. Within General

    1. Name the View

    2. Select your desired Owner

    3. Share by Role or Organizationally

    4. Choose the Fields you'd like to include in the View

    5. Set your desired Filters + Highlights

  8. Click Save
