Draft post-call follow-up emails in seconds

Create high quality follow-up emails that are tailored to your voice, calls, and workflow - all in one click.

Updated this week

Overview

Follow-up emails are critical for driving momentum after a call, but for most reps, they’re a time-consuming chore that doesn’t end well.

After a full day of meetings, details get fuzzy, context fades, and the “quick recap” becomes yet another task to push until tomorrow. That delay leads to weak follow-ups, dropped action items, and lost deals.

With Scratchpad, there’s a better way.

The Scratchpad unlock

Scratchpad helps reps send personalized follow-up emails in seconds - using real call context, not memory.

  • Generate follow-ups with one click, pulling from call transcripts, notes, emails, and Salesforce fields

  • Customize prompts to match your tone, structure, and sales motion

  • Ensure fast, consistent follow-ups that keep momentum without adding to the to-do list

This keeps deals moving and reps focused - no manual work required.

Get started in minutes

1. Connect data sources

Calls

Record directly in Scratchpad or sync from Gong, Zoom, etc.

Emails

Sync Gmail conversations to bring deal-critical context into Scratchpad

2. Create follow-up email prompt

Build a custom prompt to include the right tone, recap, and next steps.

Example prompt

Draft a follow-up email that reads like it came from a thoughtful sales rep summarizing a real conversation. Include real quotes from the customer and follow this format:

  • Subject: Meeting Recap - [MM/DD/YY]

  • Greeting: [First Name], below I’ve shared key takeaways and next steps.

  • Two sections, each with 3 dash-style bullets:

    • Key takeaways

      • First two bullets = customer’s words about pain or challenges

      • Third bullet = how [company] helps, tied to those problems

    • Next steps

      • 1: Next meeting with date and purpose

      • 2: Customer-side action

      • 3: Seller-side action

  • Bullet rules:

    • One sentence, under 20 words

    • Active voice

    • No conjunctions

    • Use direct quotes where possible

Example output:

Subject: Meeting Recap - 07/30/25

Hi Taylor, below I’ve shared key takeaways and next steps.

Key takeaways

  • "We’re still chasing reps for updates every week — it’s become a huge time sink"

  • "Our VP needs visibility, but the pipeline is never current when she checks"

  • Scratchpad auto-syncs updates so leaders get real-time pipeline visibility without bugging reps

Next steps

  • Follow-up scheduled for 08/02/25 to review pipeline automation workflows

  • Taylor to confirm integration feasibility with current Salesforce setup

  • Oscar to prep examples of pipeline reporting improvements

Best,
Oscar
