Overview
There’s no one-size-fits-all workflow, so Scratchpad gives you multiple ways to create Salesforce Tasks - no matter how you like to work.
Whether you're adding a quick follow-up, logging activity while reviewing pipeline, or working straight from your calendar, you can create tasks seamlessly in just a few clicks.
Creating Tasks from the Task App
Navigate to Tasks from your Scratchpad Nav Bar
Click Add task to create a new Task
Fill out any required fields, click the ••• in the top right to add additional fields
Click Create Task
Creating Tasks from Command
Enable Scratchpad Command
Open a new tab and enter the keyboard shortcut CMD+J (Mac) or CTRL+J (PC) to bring up Command
Select Create new task
Fill out any required fields, click the Fields in the top right to add additional fields
Click Create
Creating Tasks from Expanded View
Open Expanded View for any record
Click Show Tasks from the sidebar
Click the + to create a new Task
Fill out any required fields, click the ••• in the top right to add additional fields
Click Create Task
Creating Tasks from Google Calendar
Enable Scratchpad Command
Go to Google Calendar and open a week view
Click the circle ✔️ icon next to the day to create a new Task
Fill out any required fields, the Task will save automatically when you click away
When the circle ✔️ icon is blue, click on it to see existing Tasks for the day
FAQ
Can I relate a Task to multiple records?
Not today. You can open the Task in Salesforce to accomplish this.
Can you create Tasks that don't sync to Salesforce?
Not today. You can create a Task without relating it to a record, but it will still log to Salesforce.
Do Task comments support hyperlinks?
No, Task comments do not currently support hyperlinks.
What time-zone is the Today and Overdue filter within the Task App based on?
This is based on our server's time-zone, which is in the US.
